Scheiber sustained torn ligaments Thursday in Maria Alm and was expected to undergo surgery in a Salzburg hospital, the Austrian ski federation said. The 25-year-old Scheiber had three top-three finishes this season but has yet to win a World Cup race. |

| Paul Robbins, the ski and travel journalist who served as the U.S. Ski Team's primary writer for more than two decades, died Saturday of an apparent heart attack. He was 68. Robbins died while working in his home, the U.S. Ski Team said. Well known for wearing a Scottish tam, Robbins started writing about ski racing in the late '70s. |
